I am a mask junkie. I love any type of mud mask, sheet mask, eye mask, etc. So, I was really intrigued when I heard that the VII Oxygen Eye Mask for Dark Circles is an 8-hour overnight treatment. This is the first mask I have ever tried that you leave on overnight.
According to the VIICode website the VII Oxygen Eye Mask for Dark Circles provide the following benefits:
- Relief from tired eyes or or lifestyle factors
- Increased blood flow and lymphatic circulation
- Boosted oxygen intake to combat wrinkles and over-pigmentation
- Plumped, smooth skin
For a complete treatment, you need three boxes of eye masks that contain 6 treatments/box (so a total of 18 treatments). The complete set retails for $174 so it is definitely an investment. In addition, these eye masks should be applied two to three times per week. For the purposes of my review, I tried one box of eye masks that contains 6 treatments and retails for $58.
First, let me start by saying that I was excited that you can leave this eye mask on for up to 8 hours. To me, the longer I am able to leave something on the more I feel like it is actually doing something! Does anyone else feel that way? However, I was a little nervous to wear the eye mask overnight. I have difficulty falling asleep and was worried this would make its even harder.
So, I decided to test my first eye mask on New Years Day. I had MAJOR dark circles from the night before and absolutely no plans to leave the comfort of my home. What a perfect day to try a mask! To apply the eye mask, you first clean your skin as you normally would. Then, you remove the thin film from the eye mask and apply to your under-eye area. The first thing I noticed when I opened the packaging was that it was not overly-liquidy. I have found that A LOT of sheet masks and eye masks are completely soaked in the product which makes it messy to apply. I REALLY enjoyed the fact that these eye masks were not soaking wet with product.
The eye mask has a gel-like material and they did not slip around on my skin (probably also due to the fact that they were not overly-soaked with product). Overall, the application of this eye mask was probably the easiest I have experienced. There was also an immediate cooling sensation which I really enjoyed. It dissipated slightly but the eye mask felt “nice” the entire time I wore it. The only negative I experienced was that I could definitely FEEL the mask on my under-eye area. For me, it was not a mask that I could forget I was wearing. I got used to it throughout the day, but I could definitely feel it on my skin.
After using the VII Oxygen Eye Mask my under-eye area felt incredibly moisturized. My under-eye area looked less swollen and puffy, and I overall looked more well rested. It also slightly improved the appearance of my dark circles. I have since tried this mask three more times (each time wearing the mask overnight) and I experienced the same results. A completely mess-free application, a pleasant cooling sensation, and my under-eye area looked brighter, healthier, and more well rested each time.
Overall, I really enjoyed this product. I think it provided amazing benefits to my under-eye area. I would recommend this product to someone who is ready for the commitment (both in terms of price and the amount of time you wear it/the number of treatments involved). However, I have found that most skincare products require a time and money commitment! What do you think about these VII Oxygen Eye Masks? Is this something you are interested in trying?
