I will admit that I am new to the natural beauty “scene”. So, I was really excited to receive a large box of natural beauty products from Dermstore. If you missed my first blog post about my love for Dermstore, be sure to check it out here. UPDATE: Dermstore is currently having 20% off all of their natural beauty products with the code NATURAL! The sale goes through this Sunday, April 16th.
As I mentioned in my previous Dermstore post, I love the huge selection of makeup, skincare, and haircare products that Dermstore offers. They also have an entire section of their site dedicated to natural beauty products. After testing out a lot of the products, I wanted to share my thoughts with you.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Sensual – Did you know that Tarte is all natural? I actually had no idea (some beauty blogger I am!). This blush formula is incredible. It lasts for SO long on my skin. This color applies very naturally at first but can be built up for more of a noticeable flush. The color is really flattering and it goes with every makeup look. It has quickly become one of my favorite blushes in my collection and I will be picking up another Tarte blush soon!
RMS Beauty Magic Luminizer – OK. This is one of the VERY few products that I have literally gasped the first time I applied it. It is one of the most beautiful highlighters I have ever seen. It is very pigmented so you only need to apply a very small amount. It is not too glittery or chunky and provides such a gorgeous glow. If you look VERY closely, there is a little glitter. The texture is really nice and is not sticky at all. It is super easy to apply and blend out with your fingers. The packaging is really small and sleek and is perfect for travel. This highlighter and the Tarte blush were my favorite products that I tried!
Honest Beauty Eyeshadow Trio in Truly Effortless Soft Sand – I am a huge fan of Jessica Alba, so I have been dying to try her brand: Honest Beauty. I had really high hopes for this eyeshadow trio as the colors looked like they would go together perfectly. These shadows are really beautiful. They are incredibly pigmented but blend out very nicely. My only complaint is that the shadow on the right is a little too “stark white” for me. So, instead of using this all over the lid, I use it in the inner corner. This palette, plus a different eyeshadow all over the lid, creates such a beautiful look.
Well People Expressionist Mascara – This mascara is an Allure Best of Beauty Winner and an Elle Essential Beauty Product so I had very high expectations for this product. If you are looking for a mascara that provides a lot of length and ZERO clumping or flaking then I think you will really enjoy this mascara. For me, I tend to prefer a more volumizing mascara. However, I do NOT like “clumpiness” on my lower lashes so I LOVED this mascara as a bottom lash mascara.
Juice Beauty Stem Cellular CC Cream – This product is a color correcting creme that contains an SPF and provides anti-aging benefits. I received the shade Sun-Kissed Glow, which is ideal for medium skin-tones. Honestly, I really disliked this product. I tried it multiple times with both a beauty blender and a foundation brush and there was no coverage. Even when I put on a lot of product, my problem areas peaked through. I also found this particular shade to be slightly orange. This product also has a smell that lingered on my skin the entire time I wore it. I hate to bash a product but I really disliked this one. I read a few online reviews that LOVED this product, so if you are interested – I would try it out for yourself.
Skin Iceland Glacial Cleansing Cloths – These cleansing cloths are infused with Icelandic glacial waters and can be used to remove your makeup and cleanse and soothe your skin. I REALLY enjoy the sticker on the packaging that talks about being way too tired to wash your face after a 12 hour work day. That is the exact reason that I chose these cleansing cloths. I really enjoyed this product on my skin, but I needed to go in with something else to remove all of my eye makeup.
DHC Blotting Paper – As someone with oily skin, I have blotting papers with me AT ALL TIMES. I will be honest, I chose this product because of the cute packaging. I also really like the price point ($5 for 100 sheets). I found these blotting papers to absorb my excess oil very well and I like knowing that I am not applying any bad ingredients onto my skin.
Youth to the People Kale + Green Tea Age Prevention Cleanser – I really love the packaging on this product. The glass bottle makes it feel super high end. This cleanser contains spinach, kale and green tea and does a great job of gently cleansing with your skin without stripping it. My seriously dehydrated skin really loved it!
Youth to the People Kale + Spinach Age Prevention Cream – I was really intrigued to see that this product contained both Kale and Spinach. According to the Dermstore site, Spinach keeps your skin healthy and protected against sun damage while Kale contains high levels of Vitamins A, C, E and K. I LOVED this product as a day-time moisturizer under my makeup. It provides hydration but feels SO lightweight and does not make you feel greasy at all.
Juice Beauty Resurfacing Micro-Exfoliant – This product provides spa-grade microdermabrasion that contains all natural ingredients such as jojoba and clay. Due to the fact that this product contains clay, you can also leave it on your skin as a detoxifying mask! I REALLY enjoyed this product!
Herbivore Botanicals Coconut Milk Bath Soak – I have seen this brand all over Instagram and was really excited to try this product. It contains coconut milk powder to moisturize and soften the skin and vanilla for a “calming, therapeutic experience”. This product is a powder and you pour it under running water. It made my bath water feel very soft on my skin and left my skin feeling moisturized. This bath soak smells amazing in the jar, but the smell did dissipate once I poured it into my bath.
I hope you enjoyed my review of all of these natural beauty products that I received from Dermstore. Have you tried any of these products? What are your favorite natural beauty products? Don’t forget to shop the sale here.
*These products were sent to me free of charge by Dermstore as press samples. As always, my opinions are 100% my own.
