I have heard so many of my favorite beauty and fashion bloggers (Alex Garza, Chronicles of Frivolity, Byobeauty, etc.) RAVE about the Tula skincare line. So, I was absolutely thrilled when Tula sent me a few of their products to try. The innovative “thing” about this line is that all their products are made with Probiotics. The good for you bacteria. Yes, bacteria! (After some research, I learned that their founder, Dr. Raj, is actually a gastroenterologist). After hearing this, I was even more intrigued to try this line. Here is some general information: ALL Tula products are gluten free, paraben free, phthalate-free, cruelty-free and do not contain mineral oil, propylene glycol or petroleum.
Exfoliating Treatment Mask – This is the product that EVERYONE raves about. Now I know why! This is a bright blue clay mask with small exfoliating beads. This mask is effective but not harsh AT ALL. Typically, after I use a clay mask, my skin feels super dried out. This mask does not dry out your skin at all. In fact, it is recommended that you use this mask 2-3 times a week. This mask left my skin feeling super soft and clean. The exfoliating beads were very gentle but left my skin glowing. I also LOVE the gorgeous packaging and the fact that you only have to leave it on for 5 minutes. I have heard people mention that they use this for spot treatment, but I found that it was not as effective as my Mario Badescu Drying Lotion.
Purifying Facial Cleanser – This is a very gentle, yet effective cleanser. In a way, it reminded me of the Philosophy Purity Face Wash. It also has a nice, light fragrance that I really enjoyed. Again, I think every skin-type would really enjoy this cleanser. I am enjoying using it in the mornings!
Hydrating Day and Night Cream – I really enjoyed this product as a night cream. It provided a lot of moisture without making my skin too greasy. However, I found this a little too heavy on my oily skin to use as a day cream as I tend to stick with mattifying moisturizers during the day. This product was definitely the most luxurious feeling of the group and I found myself *excited* to use it each night! The fancy glass packaging also makes it feel very high-end.
Bottom Line: Overall, I REALLY liked this line. The packaging is so luxurious, but the price is reasonable compared to other high-end skincare. I will absolutely continue to use all three of these products as part of my skincare routine. The stand-out product for me was the Exfoliating Treatment Mask. I think people with every skin-type will really enjoy this mask. If you’ve tried other exfoliants and they were too abrasive: try this mask. If you’ve tried other clay masks and they were too drying: try this mask. I would highly recommend all three of these products!
