I recently received the most amazing PR package from Dermalogica. This brand has been on my radar for years! In fact, I recently listened to an entire Podcast episode about Dermalogica (check out How I Built This from NPR). So, I was thrilled to be able to try so many Dermalogica products at once. Here are my thoughts about the Dermalogica products:
Oh my goodness, I love this product. You apply this cleansing oil to dry skin to remove your makeup. You can add water, and this product turns into a very gentle cleanser. I found that this product did a great job of removing my makeup, gently cleansing my skin, and leaving it feeling very soft and moisturized. It also has a subtle lemon scent that I REALLY enjoy. This was definitely my favorite of the products that I received. I have actually been reaching for it over my Tatcha Camellia Cleansing Oil because I prefer the pump on the Dermalogica cleansing oil (and the smell).
After using the PreCleanse, I wash my face with the Special Cleansing Gel. This gel cleanser, which contains mint and lavender extracts, also smells amazing. I found it to be very gentle yet effective. It actually reminded me a lot of the Fresh Soy Cleanser that I love so much. I really enjoy the combination of this cleansing gel and the PreCleanse.
This product is a rice-based enzyme powder that activates with water. It contains Rice Extract and Salicylic Acid to gently exfoliate skin. I found this product to be gentle yet effective. It definitely helped clear up my skin. However, I hate that you have to dump the product into your hand and then mix it with water. Not only is it messy, I never know how much I need. So, as much as I KNOW this product made a difference in my skin, I found myself skipping this step as I did not want to deal with the mess.
This product is a lightweight, oil-free mositurizer that smells amazing. I LOVED this product as a daytime moisturizer for under my makeup. It provided enough moisturization without being heavy or greasy. At night, I definitely needed something that provided slightly more moisture.
I used to think that because I have oily skin, I needed to stay far away from facial oils. However, I have learned that when my skin produces a lot of oil, it actually means that it is dehydrated. This oil is very pricey, but 100% worth the price. It smells amazing and my skin drank it up! It absorbed into my skin so quickly and did not make me feel greasy at all. I actually started applying this under my makeup (in addition to at night) and I loved it. This was probably my second favorite product of the group.
The bottom line is that if you have not tried anything from Dermalogica, you NEED to. Seriously, just check out the Dermalogica page on Ulta’s website and see how many products have 5 star reviews. I truly enjoyed every product that I received. Not only did most of the product smell amazing, they were all very gentle and effective. If you are currently shopping the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Sale, and need to pick up something else in order to get free shipping (I got you!) – I would definitely recommend picking up ANY of these products!
