I was watching Emily Noel’s YouTube video (“the Emily Awards”) and I loved her idea of doing a countdown of my favorite makeup products for the year. As she says in her video, this will stop me from picking “obligatory favorites” just to have a favorite product for every category and instead focus on the products that REALLY impressed me during the year. Disclaimer: I TOTALLY forgot to include two of the products in my picture #bloggerfail
I tried to think back over the year and use this criteria: (1) Which products REALLY impressed me right from the start AND (2) Which products did I continue to reach for over all my other makeup products. Based on that criteria, it was fairly easy to choose my top 12 makeup products of 2016. Alright, here we go!
#12 Hourglass Blush in Mood Exposure – Gorgeous blush color that looks natural and glowy and would look great on anyone.
#11 Lancome Cils Booster – Amazing lash primer that gives you length and volume while conditioning your lashes.
#10 Dior Addict Lip Glow in Sheer Pink – The perfect lip product to keep in your purse. It provides a sheer pink color that will instantly brighten up your face while moisturizing your lips.
#9 YSL Rouge Pur Couture in Le Nude – This formula is super pigmented and creamy and this color is the perfect nude.
#8 Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Whiskey – This eyeliner is creamy and smudge-able (in a good way) and does not fade. This color is the perfect warm brown.
#7 Charlotte Tilbury Airbrushed Pressed Powder – This pressed powder makes your skin look completely airbrushed without look at all powdery.
#6 IT Cosmetics Superhero Mascara – This mascara gives my lashes length and major volume!
#5 Lancome Teint Idole Stick Foundation – The stick makes this foundation super quick and easy to use. The foundation itself provides nice coverage, has a natural finish and is long-wearing (even on my oily skin).
#4 IT Cosmetics CC Cream – This is a product that everyone needs in their collection. This CC cream provides amazing coverage, feels comfortable on the skin, and blends out like a dream. It is perfect for everyday wear.
#3 Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette – This palette is a must-have. It has the perfect mix of neutral/wearable shades with pops of colors. This palette has everything you need to create a ton of different warm-toned eye looks.
#2 Hourglass Bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light – This bronzer gives you such a natural looking radiant glow. It is super blendable and really hard to “over do it”. It is just stunning!
#1 Charlotte Tilbury Blush in First Love – The formula of these blushes are amazing. They are not too pigmented but can be built up really easily. Every shade that I have tried is gorgeous and super flattering. They are also the most long-lasting blush I have ever tried. The color First Love is so flattering and looks really natural. It can go with any makeup look.
I hope you enjoyed this post! Of course there are products that I absolutely cannot live without that were not included in this post (Laura Mercier Translucent Powder, Urban Decay Naked Concealer, MAC Fix Plus and Urban Decay All Nighter to name a few). However, the 12 makeup products above DEFINITELY got the most use during 2016 and I think they are must-haves in your collection.
