If you read my previous posts about Milk Makeup (check them out here and here) then you know that I am super impressed with the Milk Makeup brand. They are just so innovative and different. So, I was really excited to receive the Milk Makeup Mars Holographic Stick before it released!
Here is what Milk Makeup says about this product:
A bestselling holographic highlighter stick that’s packed with meteorite powder for an otherworldly glow. Loaded with meteorite powder and twilight-like pearls, this multi-use highlighter stick leaves an iridescent sheen wherever it’s applied. With nourishing ingredients like mango butter, coconut oil, and avocado oil, Holographic Stick hydrates skin for a dewy, galactic glow. Its iridescent sheen complements all skintones, and can be applied to the eyes, cheeks, lips, and body. Formulated with Milk Melt Technology, this vegan Holographic Stick melts into skin on contact and blends in seamlessly.
The Milk Makeup Holographic Stick is not a new product (the shade Supernova has been around for a little while) but the shade Mars is brand new. This particular shade will be available online only starting May 2nd.
This highlighter is in stick form and the packaging looks similar to the Milk Makeup Blur Stick. When I first received this product I thought I was going to hate it. I am someone who likes a very subtle, glow-from-within highlight. I think the word “holographic” scared me. I am happy to say that this highlighter is STUNNING. It is actually very subtle and gives the most gorgeous glow. It can also be built up for a more intense highlight. It is also stunning (and easy to apply) as a body highlight.
To apply, I would recommend against applying it directly to your cheekbones. I found that when I applied the product directly to my face I ended up removing some of my foundation. So, I use my finger or a brush to get some of the product and then dab the highlight onto my cheekbones. The color of this particular shade is absolutely stunning. Also, the formula of this product (with mango butter and coconut oil) is super moisturizing so you will NOT get that powdery/chalky look. The highlighter ends up giving you a very dewy-glow, which is beautiful.
Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this highlighter from Milk Makeup. It is absolutely beautiful. Plus, the formula is so great that you could honestly use this highlighter for so many different purposes (cheekbone highlight, body highlight, eyeshadow, illuminating primer, etc). Will you be purchasing the Milk Makeup Mars Holographic Stick?! Available at Milk Makeup and Sephora.
