When I saw the Maybelline The City Mini Eyeshadow Palette in Rooftop Bronzes I HAD to have it. I don’t think I have ever been so excited for a drugstore eyeshadow palette.
The Maybelline The City Mini Palette is VERY small (smaller than my iPhone). However, it retails for under $10 and I think this price is more than fair for the quality of these shadows.
The shades in the Maybelline The City Mini Eyeshadow Palette are beautiful. I absolutely love the shade selection. I love all of the warm-brown, gold, and coppery shades and this is one of the few palettes that I know I will get use out of every single shade in here.
The one con is that this is not a “complete” palette – it is missing a brow-bone highlight and a transition shade. However, I am able to look past this because I have been using my bronzer for a transition shade. Had Maybelline added a matte brow-bone highlight and a matte brown transition shade I think this palette would be incredible.
Oh my goodness, these shadows are incredibly buttery and pigmented. Each shadow is very pigmented with a shimmer finish. I did find the champagne colored shade to be the least pigmented and most “glittery” of the bunch.
I have worn this eyeshadow palette for the past three days. Each day, I have felt so inspired by this palette (which is rare for me). The colors go together so well. A friend of mine complained that the shadows did not last on her – but I had absolutely no issues with fading. However, I would recommend using a good eyeshadow primer just to be safe (I love this one and this one).
