I always wish I had a YouTube channel whenever I splurge and buy a bunch of makeup. I don’t know why but I really enjoy telling people WHY I chose each product. Anyways, I arrived home from work today to see that both my Ulta and Sephora packages were waiting for me (yay!!). I haven’t had a chance to play with everything yet but here is a quick run down of what I got and why I bought it!
Too Faced Peanut Butter & Jelly Palette – I really really really don’t need another eyeshadow palette. However, I could not say no to this one. My Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palettes are my favorite palettes in my collection and the shade peanut butter is one of my favorite eyeshadows EVER. (FYI, the shade peanut butter inspired this entire palette). Plus, everyone is saying that this palette is totally worth it (let’s hope the hype is real). Based on the fact that I enjoy warm eyeshadows and don’t wear a lot of colors – I think I am going to really like this palette.
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion – this stuff is amazing for clearing up acne. This is a repurchase because I cannot be without this product!
KORRES Wild Rose Vitamin C Active Brightening Oil – I’m not going to lie – this was a total impulse purchase. I’ve never tried anything from Korres but I was poking around the “What’s New” section of Sephora.com and saw this. The packaging with the heart on it TOTALLY got me. Not to mention that there are ROSE PETALS floating around in the bottle!!! Plus, I’ve been meaning to purchase an oil. My skin is really oily, but I keep reading about all of the benefits of using an oil on your skin. This one got great reviews so I decided to try it!
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration – I have SUPER oily skin but for some reason, my skin has been SO dry recently. The moisturizers that I own are all mattifying gels, and they aren’t super moisturizing. I’ve been hearing a lot of buzz around First Aid Beauty (I can’t remember which products specifically) so when I saw this “ultra repair cream – intense hydration” I figured I would give it a try.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure – I am SO late to the game on all of the Hourglass powder products. I recently purchased the Hourglass bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light and fell in LOVE. I decided I wanted to try an Hourglass blush next. I posted about this on Instagram and almost everyone recommended Mood Exposure. I can’t wait to try this blush!!!
Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Copper – I saw Alexandrea Garza use this in her everyday makeup routine a while ago and I have been wanting it ever since. I am pretty sure that this was the only product that she applied on her eyelids and it looked GREAT. I don’t need another eyeshadow but once I saw the great reviews on this product I had to try it. Plus, I don’t have anything in my collection like this eyeshadow stick.
SEPHORA COLLECTION Face Mask Explorer Set (includes Lotus, Rose and Pearl) – I have been dying to try a sheet mask but they are so darn expensive. I saw this limited edition set on Sephora for only $10 (as opposed to one mask for $6) and knew this was my chance to try them. I plan on trying one of these masks tonight after I take off all my makeup.
I also got some really great samples that I can’t wait to try. I got a Caudalie set which I am super excited about because I absolutely LOVED the Caudalie moisturizer that I tried recently. I also got the Capture Totale Cream from Dior that my best friend swears by. It retails for over $100 so I was super excited when I finally saw a sample of it on Sephora. Lastly, I got a sample of the Smashbox instant-matte transformer (it turns any of your lipsticks into a matte lipstick). I’m excited to see if this product actually works, even though I’m not a huge fan of matte lips.
Have you tried any of these products?! I would love to hear what you think of them!
