If you have followed my blog for a while, then you have probably heard me mention the Lancome Cils Booster Lash Primer. This product is a mascara primer that also conditions your lashes. It is white and is applied to your lashes prior to your mascara. The primer adds both length and volume while leaving your lashes soft and “fluttery”. Basically, I swear by this product and use it every day. So, I was thrilled when I saw that someone finally came out with a drugstore alternative!
The L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara is a great drugstore mascara. So, I had high hopes for the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Primer. I have been testing this product out for a while and am excited to share my opinion with you.
Is this product a dupe for the Lancome Cils Booster? It depends on your definition of a dupe. Are these identical? Absolutely not. Does it perform as well? No. Does it BASICALLY make your lashes look the same? Yes.
The Lancome Lash Primer (and the Dior Lash Primer) are perfection. They add length and volume to my lashes and provide a nice base for my mascara. They do not cause my lashes to clump or harden. The L’Oreal Lash Primer DOES add just as much length and volume to my lashes. However, it made my lashes hard and clumpy.
Bottom Line: If you have the money, I would purchase the Lancome Cils Booster Lash Primer or the Dior Lash Primer. They are both amazing. If you are on a budget, I think the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Primer is worth a try because it does add length and volume to your lashes (and it is less than HALF the cost). However, I would rather spend more money and not deal with clumpy mascara.
