I did a dangerous thing today. I brought my husband with me to Sephora. My husband, like most men, does not understand how expensive makeup is. Well, let me rephrase that: he USED to not understand how expensive makeup is. I think I can safely say that he now “gets it”. Anyways, there are so many new makeup releases at Sephora so here is what I picked up:
Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick – The gorgeous packaging on this product sold me. It is so sleek and beautiful. I absolutely love the Lancome Foundation Stick so I was excited to try a stick foundation from one of my favorite brands. My friend Lisa (Youtube: LisaJMakeup) was with me, and she picked one of these up as well. My first impression from testing this product in the store is that it is going to be FULL coverage.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette – I have been wanting to try some of the Hourglass powders for forever (I absolutely LOVE their blushes and bronzers). I could never decide if I wanted to try this palette, or buy one of the full-size compacts. I will let you know what I think of each powder in this palette.
Kat Von D Lock-It Setting Powder – This loose powder has been getting amazing reviews online. I am not sure if that is because it is a great product, or because of all of the people that received this product for free from Influenster. I decided I had to try it for myself and find out!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit – After I did a Snapchat video showing my makeup collection, I received a lot of feedback that I needed to buy more highlighters! My friend Katie (@mrslanglam) recommended that I pick up the Anastasia Glow Kit. I picked up the newer, limited edition version: the Sun Dipped Palette but if I like it, I may also pick up That Glow.
Estee Edit Pore Vanishing Stick – I absolutely LOVE that Estee Lauder came out with a second line geared towards the “younger” crowd. The Pore Vanishing stick has been the one product I have been dying to try. My friend Erin (@erinedgar) just got it and loves it!!
I actually went to Sephora to pick up a lighter shade of the Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation. I ordered the shade 6.5 online and I think it is going to be too dark. However, it is not yet available in stores and the lady working there told me that they would probably get it in 2-3 weeks. I also went there with the intent to buy one of the Marc Jacobs Air Blushes but I swatched them and was honestly not impressed. They are very stiff and you have to press hard to get any pigment payoff. The shades I wanted did not show up on my skin tone at all.
Have you tried any of these products?! Stay tuned for full reviews of everything that I hauled. And follow me on Snapchat for sneak peaks of my opinions on these products (kateluvesmakeup)
