Essie has been my favorite nail polish brand since I discovered the color Ballet Slippers. So, I was thrilled when I received the Essie Winter 2016 Collection.
First of all, let me say that I have a whole new level of respect for “nail bloggers”. It is SO hard to (1) paint your nails perfectly and (2) come up with photos of your hands that do not look incredibly awkward. As you can tell, I failed miserably at both of these but I really wanted you to be able to see the polishes on my nails.
The first thing that I noticed about the Essie Winter 2016 Collection is that I would honestly wear every single color. I also really enjoyed the fact that they threw in one polish that is not your typical “winter color”. As I am horrible at describing colors, I obtained the color descriptions from the Essie website.
Getting Groovy (metallic gold palladium) – I love that this polish is both glittery and pigmented. I prefer glittery polishes to be pigmented enough to wear on their own and this one definitely is. This polish took two coats to be fully opaque.
Go With The Flowy (cloudlike dove gray) – We are in the process of remodeling our new home and gray paint is my current obsession. So, I am absolutely in love with this blue-gray nail polish. This polish was the thinnest of the group and took three coats to be fully opaque.
Satin Sister (sleek ebony peacock blue) – This color is absolutely gorgeous. Plus, this polish was incredibly opaque and only took ONE coat!! I have a feeling I will be wearing this color a lot this Winter.
Oh Behave! (minx peach frost) – I love that Essie threw in a bright and fun color into the mix. I will wear this shade year-round. This polish took two coats to be fully opaque.
Party on a Platform (london garnet red) – I LOVE red nails. Whenever I am in a nail “funk” and cannot decide – I always go for red. This burgundy red will be absolutely gorgeous for the Fall and Winter months. This polish was incredibly opaque and only took one coat.
Ready to Boa (glistening bronzed mahogany) – This shade is the most unique shade in the collection. When I look at it I cannot tell if it is brown or purple. This polish was very opaque and only took one coat.
Overall, I think this collection is a hit! Which polish from the Essie Winter 2016 Collection is your favorite?!
