My typically oily skin has been very DRY recently. To the point where my nose has actually been peeling. So, I have made a few changes to my skincare routine and shifted my focus from oil control to hydration. I thought I would share the skincare products that have become essential for my cold weather skincare routine.
The first step in my skincare routine is always to remove my makeup. When the weather is cold, I like to use oils or cleansing balms. I find that cleansing oils or balms remove my makeup without drying out my skin. My favorite oil is this one from Tatcha and my favorite cleansing balm is this one from IT Cosmetics.
For my cleanser, I have been using this probiotic cleanser from Tula. Even though my skin has been very dry, it is still prone to breakouts. This cleanser does a great job of cleaning my skin without drying it out. After cleansing my skin I have been using this Sea Minerals Mist. This product contains seaweed and aloe vera and is great for reducing the redness on my skin. I also like to use it throughout the day (on days I am home and not wearing makeup) to refresh my skin and add moisture.
My most favorite cold weather skincare essentials are this hydrating serum from Derma E and this day and night cream from Tula. If you are going to try anything from this post – I would highly recommend buying both of these. The night cream from Tula is more moisturizing but these products are very similar. They both smell incredible and my skin just drinks them up. I have been applying the hydrating serum in the morning under my makeup and applying both of these products at night.
My last cold weather essential is hand cream! I literally have a hand cream in my purse, one on my desk, one on my nightstand, etc. My two favorites are this one from Tula and this one from Tatcha. Both of these products have a nice scent (but are not overly scented) and provide AMAZING hydration. The Tula hand cream is made with probiotics, contains shea butter and targets fine lines, age spots and hyper pigmentation. The Tatcha hand cream is purple (!!) and not only softens your skin but also calms irritated skin. It really helps with my eczema on my hands.
What are your cold weather skincare essentials? Have you tried any of these products that I mentioned?
