It is no secret that I am a huge fan of the Clarisonic brand. So, I was really excited to receive the new Clarisonic Sonic Foundation Brush. This brush is used to apply your foundation (or any other liquid makeup product) and can be attached to ANY Clarisonic device (Smart Profile Uplift, Mia Fit, Mia 2, etc).
Here is what Clarisonic says about this brush:
The Clarisonic Makeup Brush utilizes patented oscillation technology to generate more than 18,000 micro-blends per minute. The makeup brush gently provides a flawless, full foundation coverage look in 60 seconds or less.
This brush can be used to apply your liquid/cream foundation, concealer, cc cream, primer, cream blush and contour, etc. It is truly a multi-tasker. I used my fingers to dab my foundation on my skin and then used the Clarisonic Sonic Foundation Brush to blend out my liquid foundation. You do not need to apply any pressure, just move the Clarisonic across your face in a circular motion and let it do all of the work for you.
I found that this brush applied my foundation quickly, evenly, and was gentle on my skin. In addition, it did not soak up ANY excess product. As someone who uses high-end foundations, I REALLY appreciate this. After using this brush, my makeup looked flawless. My foundation blended out very evenly with no streaks.
It is recommended that you clean this brush with a daily brush cleaner and tissue between uses. This might sound like a pain but you can use the travel size of this spray-on brush cleaner and a wash cloth for a quick cleanse.
According to Clarisonic, the Sonic Foundation Brush is also made with “anti-microbial” fibers. This means that it will help keep the brush (and your skin) clean. Plus, since it does not soak up excess product I think you could easily get away with cleaning this brush less frequently than Clarisonic recommends.
If you own a Clarisonic device, the Clarisonic Sonic Foundation Brush is a no-brainer. At $35, it is a must buy. If you DON’T own a Clarisonic – what are you waiting for?! You can check out my reviews of the different Clarisonics that I own here and here.
