Anastasia of Beverly Hills recently released their stick foundation. It is described as a “highly pigmented, buildable cream formula that leaves a natural matte finish.” It is available in 28 shades and retails for $25.
The reviews I have seen describe this foundation as creamy and easy to blend. I have the exact opposite opinion. When I apply the foundation to my skin, it does not glide on very easily. It is tacky and sticks to my skin rather than being creamy and applying smoothly. I have to work extra hard to blend the foundation into my skin and I end up buffing away some of the coverage. It also sets very fast, so you have to work quickly.
This foundation is a medium coverage. I love the finish and wear of this product. It feels very lightweight and comfortable on my skin and it dries to a natural-matte finish. This product held up very well on my oily skin. It did not keep me matte all day, but I have yet to find a foundation that does.
I really wanted to love this product. I love the ABH brand and I am so impressed with their decision to price this so low (in comparison to other recent releases of stick foundations). However, I reach for a stick foundation most days because of their convenience. They are (normally) so quick and easy to apply. This foundation was just too much work. If you can get past the tricky application process, then this is a really nice foundation. However, this foundation by Lancome is still my favorite stick foundation by far.
