I recently received a package from Amayori Rituals and I was immediately intrigued by these Shower Mochi. First of all, how cute are they?! They are an aromatherapy tablet that you put in your shower to enjoy (the steam from the shower “releases” the fragrance). It’s basically a relaxing bubble bath without the bubbles or the bath 🙂 Here is what the Amayori website says about this product:
The Inspiration: Mochi is a delicious prized Japanese rice cake often served as a dessert. Made from pounded rice, Mochi symbolizes good luck, flexibility and endurance. Beautifully wrapped boxes of Mochi are often given as gifts to friends and relatives.
The Ritual: For an at-home spa experience, simply place a Shower Mochi tablet on the shower floor about an inch away from the direct stream of water. Allow the shower to fill up with the beautiful scent of our aromatherapy blends. Stop, breathe, and enjoy. Shower Mochi is about relaxation and connecting with yourself through gorgeous aromatherapy fragrance. Take as much time as you can.
This is so creative! I personally take both showers (on a normal day-to-day basis) and baths (when I want to relax). I love the idea of incorporating aromatherapy during my shower to create a spa-like experience in the shower as opposed to the bath. They actually have a few different types of Shower Mochi. I received the Geisha Ritual Shower Mochi which is for “strength and self-possession”.
One of my favorite things about beauty blogging is getting to try new things and new brands. I absolutely loved the story behind this brand so I thought I would share. The founder of Amayori Rituals, Francoise Decatrel, was a busy and stressed out NYC Real Estate Agent who travelled to Japan and fell in love with their “bathing rituals”. So much so, she created this line of luxury bath and body products.
I think that these would make great gifts. The packaging is so luxurious and I mean, who DOESN’T want to enjoy aromatherapy while they shower?
